St Philip’s Catholic School playground was awash with colour and kerfuffle this week when the children, staff and parents celebrated the official opening of a new canopy with a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
The children wore Mad Hatter Tea Party themed hats and were treated to tea and cakes courtesy of the PTA.
The canopy adds a fabulous flourish to the school’s quiet area and took thousands of pounds – and thousands of hours – of hard work fundraising from the Friends Of St. Philip’s. The canopy was bedecked with bunting and covered a wonderful array of tea and cakes, all provided courtesy of the PTA for all the children and all of the school community to enjoy.
Further fundraising took place on the afternoon – with a sale of carefully crafted cakes, making the entrepreneurial PTA another £130 for school funds.
