Luxford Field car park: News of works and enforcement

Restrictions on part of the Luxford Field car park in Uckfield are being altered by Wealden District Council to discourage “unnecessary journeys” during the new lockdown.

At the same time it has been announced that maintenance will be carried out in parts of the car park next week.

From the start of the England-wide lockdown today (November 5) until December 2, there will are no enforcement in the Luxford Field 10-hour car park, which is nearest to Holy Cross Church, Uckfield.

Enforcement will still take place in the three-hour section.

Regency Close

The relaxation also applies to the 10hr car park in Regency Close.

The council said it was supporting their residents and community through the latest national restrictions by allowing people to park their cars in the long stay (10hr and 23hr) areas without any concern about parking enforcement.  

“We want discourage people from making unnecessary journeys,” the council said in a statement.

Maintenance work due

“Other areas of our car parks will still have the usual parking guidelines in place.  

“Pay and display car parks (there are none in Uckfield) are not covered by this temporary change.”

Luxford Field car park will be partially closed on November 9, 10, 11 and 12 for maintenance work.

Some of the car park will remain open, although there will be a reduction in spaces.
