Update on Friday, August 8: The first phase of improvement works at the Luxford Car Park, Uckfield, has been completed.
Phase two is under way and phase three will follow on directly. Weather permitting all work should be finished by the end of the week, according to Wealden Council.
Update on Monday, August 4: Improvement works began today at the Luxford Car Park, in Uckfield. They should be completed in two to three weeks, weather permitting.
It will include removing current signage, re-surfacing and relining, clearing drainage and gullies and putting up new sign posts. The lighting will be upgraded to modern energy saving LED lighting.
Implementation of new parking regulations in Uckfield, which will see the introduction of nine hour mid term parking bays at the Luxford Car Park, will be carried out in the autumn, to coincide with the opening of Network Rail’s new car park near the station.
Automatic number plate recognition cameras will be used to ‘police’ the new parking regulations when they are introduced. See: ANPR cameras to ‘police’ Uckfield car parks.
