Lions present Uckfield with new benches

Four new benches have been donated to Uckfield by the town’s Lions club to mark its 50th year of serving the community.

They are along the footpath on the eastern side of the Luxford Field and replace dilapidated wooden benches.

The formal presentation took place as part of Uckfield Lions’ Big Fun Day and Scarecrow Competition on Sunday (June 2).

Uckfield Lions had run the contest in the month leading up to the Big Fun Day and seven scarecrows were bought along to the Big Fun Day for final judging and received prizes which were all donated by local shops and businesses.

Winners of the three scarecrow categories were Cooper and Sons, Church Coombe Community Association and Mr & Mrs Judge from Castle Rise.
