Fun run winner’s first success in 20 years

Fun run competitors pounded through Buxted Park on Sunday (July 13) morning as they completed a 10k organised by Uckfield Lions.

First man home was Kevin Perez in a time of 40 minutes 30 seconds. He was closely followed by Emma Rollings, of Ringmer, in 40:37.

Kevin, who lives in Ticehurst and works for Freeman Forman in Uckfield, has been running for about 20 years but this is the first time he has won a race.

The event was started  at the rugby club by Uckfield Town Mayor, Cllr Ian Smith, who greeted the runners on their return.

The event, now in its fourth year, attracted runners from Uckfield and surrounding area including Tunbridge Wells, East Grinstead. Eastbourne and Brighton.
