County, district, town and parish councillors will be available to chat to members of the public about their roles at an event in Uckfield next month.
It is being organised by Wealden District Council to encourage more people to become involved in the local democratic process.
All 55 seats on the council will be up for re-election on May 5 next year as will seats on parish and town councils and this is a chance to learn more about what is involved in being a councillor.
Cllr Claire Dowling, from Uckfield, who is cabinet member for corporate services said: “We are undergoing a major period of change for public services so why stand on the sidelines when there is an opportunity to get involved and speak for your local communities.”
The event will be held at the Civic Centre on Saturday, November 6.
