Nineteen acres of land – the open space in the centre of this Google Earth image – is being offered for sale with the potential for accommodating a development of 150-200 homes.

Nineteen acres of land in Buxted is being advertised for sale as having the potential for accommodating a development of between 150 and 200 homes.

The site is next to the A272 road between Buxted School and The White Hart pub.

Details on the OnTheMarket website say the owner submitted A Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availablility Assessment (SHEELA) to the local planning authority, Wealden Council, last month (August 2020).

They say the land is excluded from all conservation areas, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or protected landscapes and is classified as having low flood risk.

The site is being offered for sale through informal tender. The deadline for tenders is given as noon on Monday, September 28, at the Horam office of Samuel and Son.

Details say: “The site is being offered on a subject to planning basis; consideration will be given to either a Promotion or an Option Agreement.”
