King’s Church in Uckfield has produced a brochure giving details of activities and events it has planned for 2017.
They range from church services to baby and toddler groups and from youth groups to community events, get-togethers and outings.
Pastor Ade Ward and administrator Sid Martin said the brochure was essential for keeping church members informed while the church didn’t have its own permanent base in the town.
The church used to lease accommodation in Grange Road but outgrew the premises and would now like to find and buy a building where it can house all its activities, including Sunday meetings.
In the meantime Sunday meetings are held at 10am in Uckfield Civic Centre, while other activities are held at venues including Foresters Hall, where there are toddlers groups on Thursdays and Fridays during term time.
Some of the key community activities coming up involving the church include:
- Kids’ Easter Saturday Fun at the Civic Centre on Saturday, April 15;
- Uckfield Festival Big Day Out on Saturday, July 8;
- Churches in Uckfield Funday on Sunday, July 16;
- Uckfield Carnival on Saturday, September 2, and
- Late Night Shopping on a date to be confirmed at the beginning of December.
The church is financed through the giving of its members, donating money to provide toddler groups and other activities which are open, free of charge, to anybody in the community.
Ade said: “We believe God has been generous towards us and we want to be generous to others, to help people in our town and community, to be a blessing.”
