The play area at Ridgewood recreation ground

Ideas to improve Ridgewood Rec

A Ridgewood residents’ public meeting may be called to discuss the recreation ground in New Road.

Uckfield Town Council has a working group to consider improvements after consultants provided a detailed report. See our earlier story here

The consultants found the ground was “unsafe” for league cricket because of its size, which could diminish with any extension to the village hall.

The working group said the children’s play area was “under-provided” and needed updating and repair.

Members said consideration should be given to providing  facilities for “alternative” and “minority” sports such as outdoor table tennis and stoolball.

The working group will produce a final report before any action is taken.
