Glorious buses celebrate Southdown centenary at Tinkers Park, Hadlow Down

Classic buses were on show at Tinkers Park, Hadlow Down, to celebrate the centenary of Southdown Motor Services Limited (1915-2015).

The buses were shown at the Park’s model railway exhibition 2015 event.

A display of photographs showed the old depots and buses in Crowborough, Heathfield and Uckfield from the 1950s to 1990s.

There  was also a collection of Southdown bus models by a retired bus driver and a lovely display of memorabilia on Southdown from a private collection.

The bus event organiser, Paul Llewellyn  was delighted by the 30 buses that attended,  free bus rides to Uckfield, Heathfield, Mark Cross and Crowborough were enjoyed by many.

Report by Paul Llewellyn; photographs by Tim Lau.
