Funeral directors are to move into an empty shop in Uckfield High Street next door to Uckfield Electrics.
Uckfield Electrics recently vacated one of the two neighbouring shops they occupied, number 65 High Street, and now Southern Co-operative Funerals, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Co-op Society, have taken on the lease.
Lawson Commercial partner Chris Lawson said: “We were aware that this shop was going to become available towards the end of 2013 but we were not prepared for how quickly the Co-op would move once they realised this.
“Terms were agreed quite quickly but the deal has been delayed whilst essential roof repairs were carried out. These were delayed by the recent poor weather.”
*Lawson Commercial have also let a unit on the Bellbrook Business Park to a new gym business. The unit at 52-60 Bell Lane was one of three formerly occupied by Autoshape.
