The Fun-Net Cafe in Uckfield High Street is up for sale.
The couple running the business, Adam and Maria Trinchese, started it 18 months ago but are having to give it up because of Maria’s ill health.
They carried out a huge amount of work on the building at 156 High Street to accommodate a soft play area at the lower level, where children can spend time, while their parents keep an eye on them via a monitor in the cafe upstairs.
A special area for babies is accommodated in the cafe too.
Maria and Adam have found lots of different uses for the cafe, including hiring it out for private parties and using it as a base for classes around children’s activities, such as music or crafts, or as a meeting place for groups and for a summer camp over two weeks during school holidays.
Most recently pottery painting sessions are proving popular there.
Richard Oldfield, from Oldfield Smith chartered surveyors, who are handling the sale, said the business was already profitable but there was “enormous” potential for new owners to take it further.
He said: “It is still fairly early days for the business. The premises are fitted out very well indeed and someone could walk straight in there and continue with building the business. The sale price is keen and pitched at a level where someone can dip into their own pocket to find the money or take out a small loan to take it on.”
