Four bands will be taking part in Brickfest, a music festival at The Brickmakers Arms in Ridgewood, Uckfield, on Saturday.
All are regulars at The Brickies. The opening band features the pub’s very own postie Des Lavallie on drums. They are called Monty and The Maniacs.
Next to play will be Five Kites, with the pub’s Saturday chef Sam Rattray, and then barman Tom Ballan will perform an acoustic rock set.
Headlining will be Burnt House with James Dell, partner of The Brickies landlady Helen Bromwich.
Brickfest takes place on Saturday, December 10, with the first band on at 4pm.
The whole day is being organised in memory of pub regular Mike Shepherd, aka Sausage Mike, who died a year ago.
Helen Bromwich said she hoped the event would have a ‘feel good factor’. All funds raised would go to CCHF a charity all about kids, at Hassocks, which has been chosen by Mike’s family for donations.
Also taking place on the night will be the drawing of a winning ticket for a massive Christmas hamper put together by Helen and James. They do this each year. All proceeds from ticket sales – which will still be available on the day – will go to the CCHF.
Helen added: “As well as great music and plenty of bevvies our friend Leanne Wright will be here with her burger van Rhythm Catering to keep the hunger pangs at bay. As well as a good burger there will be a warming curry and naan available.”
