Five bands will be taking part in Brickstock, a music festival at The Brickmakers Arms, Ridgewood, Uckfield, on Saturday.
Landlady Helen Bromwich said the aim was to raise funds for Papworth Hospital where one of the locals had a heart and lung transplant five years ago.
There will be a day of music, drink and food and a bouncy castle in the garden. The pub opens at midday and the first band plays at 3pm.
The owners of Simply The Best Rhythm Catering, a burger van usually found off the Little Horsted Roundabout on the by-pass will be serving food all day – including burgers, sausages, chicken and a veggie choice.
There will be fare for gluten-free customers too.
Bands playing are Monty and The Maniacs, Burnt House, Midnight Project, and Kaniza. The headline group, performing at 8.30pm, are The Yum Yums.
Helen said last year’s Brickstock was a fantastic event raising lots of money and she was hoping this year’s would be as enjoyable. “We just ask for a bit of sun,” she said.
The event is being organised by Helen, her partner James Dell, and a handful of regulars who have volunteered their time to support the day.
Helen said: “It takes months of planning and the set up on the day is just as intense. I couldn’t do it without all the help, and of course, the musical talents of my customers on the day. There has been a lot of practise from the various bands.”
She added: “This is truly a good cause for a hospital any one of us might need at any point. We hope to have a rocking day with friends old and new and raise the profile of our little local pub.”
