Ferret owners gather for a show in Uckfield

Ferret owners brought their animals together in Uckfield to share tips and take part in a fun show at the weekend.

Raymond Whiteway-Roberts was intrigued to hear about the event, went along with his camera to the Scout Headquarters in Rocks Park Road, and shares his pictures on this page.ferrets-2

Ray was told there are two such gatherings hosted by the GEM Ferret Care Group in Uckfield, one around Christmas and the other at this time of year.

Ferrets come in a variety of colours, they may be white with black eyes, white with red eyes, black with white stripes, have black bodies and white heads, be all brown or all black with a white chin.

There were classes for those of different colours and for working ferrets too. None of the ferrets in Uckfield were bred to be shown, it was all being done for fun, but there was the chance for any of the animals to win a rosette.
