Fallen tree sinks closer to the ground in Hempstead Lane

A fallen tree in Hempstead Lane, Uckfield, is sinking closer to the ground ever day, according to a dog walker who goes under it regularly.

The tree is a few metres up the footpath from the Browns Lane entrance.

Dog walker Dennis Purnell says it came down in the storms a couple of weeks ago. He has noticed having to bend a little lower to get under it each day since then.

Town and district councillor, Paul Sparks, who lives a short way from Hempstead Lane said he would check whether the tree fall has been reported and follow up if it has not.
