Engineering works to take place on Uckfield Line this weekend

Engineering works are taking place on the Uckfield Line this weekend with replacement buses running – some of them starting at The Highlands Inn instead of the bus station.

Uckfield town clerk Holly Goring has liaised with Southern Rail for clarification on their plans.

They have told her the engineering works will take place between Oxted and Uckfield on Saturday and Sunday, September 7 and 8, with rail replacement buses being used.

Temporary road closures will be in place for Uckfield Carnival on Saturday and during those closures  the arrival and departure point for the buses will be at The Highlands Inn, in Lewes Road.

The buses will arrive and depart from The Highlands Inn between 1.15 and 2.45pm, and between 7.15 and 9.45pm on Saturday.

At all other times over the weekend the buses will arrive and depart from the station/station car park as usual.
