Uckfield 10k winners: Emma Rollings and Gary Foster

Emma Rollings successful again in Uckfield Lions 10k fun run

Emma Rollings sped to success for the seccond year running in the women’s secton of the Uckfield Lions 10k fun run.

Emma, who lives on the Manor Park Estate, does much of her training in Buxted Park, which made up  most  of the course.

She finished this morning’s (July 12) race in a time of 40:42.  Emma is a member of Lewes AC.

First home was Hastings runner Gary Foster in a time of 37:02.

Gary established a clear lead before the runners left the rugby club field, where the race began and ended.

He enjoyed the course but admitted it was hard. “It’s certainly not flat,” he said.

The event attracted 83 runners, up from last year’s 54 with people coming from across the county and Surrey. It was started by Uckfield Town Mayor, Cllr Louise Eastwood.

A new route in Buxted Park  had been devised for the race by Uckfield Runners, led by Richard Page.

As competitors ended the race they expressed approval of the new course.
