The building accommodating the closed Dragon Inn restaurant and neighbouring Cowburn Cutting Company is up for sale.
Richard Oldfield, of Oldfield Smith and Co which is handling the sale of the freehold, said this is a Grade II listed building in a conservation area and he thought it would appeal to an investor.
The building is on the market for £330,000.
Work is needed in the restaurant side but it already has fitted kitchens and Mr Oldfield said that once refurbished there could well be interest in re-opening as another restaurant although it would lend itself to other uses.
The part of the building occupied by Cowburn Cutting, 200-2002 High Street, was let for a period of 15 years in March 2009 expiring in March 2024, subject to five-yearly rent reviews and providing an income of £13,000 a year currently.
The former Dragon Inn premises at 2004-2006 High Street are currently vacant. The fitted kitchens are to the rear and there are outbuildings, one with a chiller unit. There is substantial accommodation over the restaurant. The estimated rental income for is £19,000 a year.
There are gardens to the rear of both properties with outbuildings.
