Don’t miss Macmillan coffee mornings in Uckfield today

Update on Tuesday, October 4: See our latest report on Macmillan fund-raising events here: Trials and tribulations of Uckfield cake-makers.

People all over Uckfield have been baking cakes ready for the Macmillan Cancer Support World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Some of the events include:

The Macmillan Cancer Support Uckfield Committee’s coffee morning today at Pizza Express in the High Street, from 10am until noon.

Members say they would like to meet all old and new friends on this enjoyable morning. Coffee, cakes and a raffle will all be available.

All the talk at J&S motorcycle accessories superstore, on the Bellbrook Estate, was about cakes being created rather than bikes yesterday so it will be worth calling in there between 10am and 1pm to support their efforts.

And bookkeepers at Team 4 Solutions at The Roller Mill in Uckfield are inviting their clients and friends in to support the charity in memory of their colleague Annette Hitchcox.

Bonners Primary School was ahead of the game holding a coffee afternoon on Wednesday to raise money for the cause and collected a massive £300. Their pictures are illustrating this story.

Office manager Toni Birkbeck said: “It was an amazing afternoon. We are so lucky to have such thoughful and helpful parents supporting this charity … yay Bonners.”

Manor Primary School will be holding an afternoon tea in support of Macmillan today.
