Hailsham Town Council has sent out a warning to dog walkers in their area reporting that cocktail sausages believed to have been stuffed with toxic slug pellets were found along the Cuckoo Trail in Hailsham and were handed in to police.

“If a dog ingests slug pellets it can be fatal, so dog owners should be cautious when walking their pets. Our outdoor works team will remain vigilant at all times and be on the lookout for any harmful substances on Town Council maintained land.

“Any further finds or information should be reported to the police by calling 101 (quoting serial 1380 of 08/04)”
