Eleven residents in the Uckfield area had lost their lives to Covid-19 by the middle of April.
The figures have just been published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
At the same time, other families have had much better news with their loved ones being discharged from hospital.
NHS trusts which treat patients from the Uckfield area have been publishing heartwarming stories of people’s successful treatment for Covid-19.
The ONS data covers deaths occurring between March 1 and April 17 and registered by April 18. The figures are:
- Uckfield Town and North: 5 confirmed deaths
- Uckfield South, which includes New Town and Ridgewood: 4 confirmed deaths
- Maresfield, Piltdown, Isfield, Halland, East Hoathly, Laughton, Chiddingly: 2 confirmed deaths
- Buxted, High Hurstwood, Rotherfield, Framfield, Blackboys: 0 confirmed deaths.
The geographic areas listed above are grouped by the ONS and have roughly similar populations.
Successful hospital care
