Clubs and societies showcase Uckfield activities

More than 20 clubs and societies from Uckfield put themselves in the shop window on Saturday (July 26).

They took part in a club and societies day in the Civic Centre to tell townspeople what they did.

It was organised by the town council.

Those taking part included Uckfrield Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs, the bonfire society, the Brighter Uckfield group, the Volunteer Centre, Uckfield Chess Club, Sussex Family History, Uckfield Scrabble Cub  and the Manor Park and Hempstead Fields Residents’ Association.

The groups talked to visitors and had leaflets to hand out for those wanting to know more.

Uckfield Rotary Club is set to have its first woman president in its 64-year history with Karen Kemp due to succeed Jeff Holman next July.
