Clothing collection to raise funds for Framfield Primary School

Framfield Primary School is holding a clothing collection to raise funds to improve the school playground.

A similar collection in October last year raised more than £500 for books for the school’s new library.

This time good re-useable quality clothing, in white or clear plastic bags, can be taken to the Memorial Hall at 9am, on Tuesday, April 20.

The school’s Parent Teacher and Friends’ Association (PTFA) has joined forces with EcoKids, a textile recycling project, and the organisation has promised up to £500 per tonne of clothing, or 50p per kilogram.

Rachel Brocklebank from the PTFA told Uckfield News said the clothing collection was important for the school because of a lack of fund-raising opportunities during the pandemic.

Items sought for the clothing collection include:

  • Good quality, dry, clean clothing
  • Handbags, belts
  • Hats, scarves, gloves
  • Soft toys in new condition
  • Paired, clean, undamaged shoes, sandals, boots, trainers (please tie together)
  • Costume Jewellery
  • Cosmetics

Rachel said the PTFA was hugely thankful for the support of the local and wider community with the previous collection and members would again appreciate any donations to support the school

For more information please contact Rachel on 07979 805329. She is also able to provide bags if needed.
