Update on Friday, October 10: Uckfield mother Clare Standing who yesterday appealed for help in finding a bracelet of great sentimental value has been reunited with it.
She has no idea who brought it back to her, just found in in an envelope by her front wall leading up to her front door.
Claire said: “They’d put one of the bricks on it that line my shrub bit tucked out of the view of the road. I saw it immediately when I came out of my house. My daughter thought the look on my face was very funny. She said that I was very smiley.”
Claire added that she was very grateful to the person who returned the bracelet and sent them her heartfelt thanks.
“I have the biggest smile. Please can you thank everyone who shared the story and helped in its return. I really never expected to see the bracelet again. It certainly makes you feel good that people do care.”
Our original story: Uckfield mother Clare Standing is appealing to Uckfield News readers to help find a bracelet that was bought when her daughter was born 11 years ago.
Clare, who works at The Beauty Room in Uckfield High Street, says she might have lost the bracelet from her wrist on Tuesday morning outside her home which is next door to Uckfield Police Station in New Town.
She said it was of huge sentimental value: “I’m desperate to find it and am hoping someone has picked it up off my drive.”
The bracelet is silver with aquamarines set into it.
Clare said she had also contacted councils in the Rustington area which was where she went after leaving home and she is going to contact a local paper there.
“I’ve lived here for 18 years and am self-employed in The Beauty Room in the High Street so know a lot of local people and am hoping they may be able to help me.
