Cider made at High Hurstwood wins top awards

High Hurstwood-based Hurstwood Cider has won two awards at the Great Taste Awards 2019.

Their Medium Dry Cider has won one-star for a second year and this year their Medium Cider has won two stars.

Great Taste is the acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink and has been described as the Oscars of the food world.

Alex Gibbons makes and sells Hurstwood Cider throughout Sussex, using Sussex-grown apples and attends many fairs.

It is stocked in several Uckfield outlets such as Hartfields, The Picture House Cinema and Restaurant and Noble Wines.

Alex said: “People have an interest in supporting local producers and small shops and this sets us apart from mass-produced ciders.”
