Children from East Hoathly Primary School and Nursery have walked, run, cycled, scooted and roller-skated the equivalent of 6555 miles from their village to Malawi.
Pupils, parents, families, staff, governors, and locals joined in the collective effort. Distances travelled were submitted to and collated in the school.
East Hoathly Primary School, along with two other schools, at Chiddingly and Hartfield, have linked with the Christian charity Starfish Malawi and the challenge was used to help educate children about the work the charity does.
Vicky Lewis, who is head of school at East Hoathly said: “This is the beginning of an exciting project for East Hoathly School who have made links with Mikute Primary School in Malawi, and are looking forward to learning more about life in the country over the coming months.
