Charlotte Kerwood to shoot at Commonwealth Games

Charlotte Kerwood from Fletching has been slelected as a member of the England clay target shooting team  which will compete at the Commonwealth Games.

Charlotte, who learned to shoot at her father’s club, will arrive with the team of 11 in Glasgow on July 17 before heading up to their base in Dundee to familiarise themselves with Barry Buddon Shooting Centre in Carnoustie.

The Women’s Skeet kicks-off the clay target shooting on July 25. Charlotte will compete in the Olympic Trap and Double Trap.

Her first major success was at the age of 15 when she won gold in the Individual Double Trap competition at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

She followed this success with a gold at the European Championships in the same year and a further two Commonwealth gold medals in the Women’s Double Trap Singles and Double Trap Pairs at the 2006 Games in Melbourne.
