New proposals for seven homes to be built in Keld Drive, Uckfield, are slightly different from a previously approved planning application.
The mix of houses in the latest scheme for 22 Keld Drive would include one four-bedroom home, and six three-bedroom homes.
Previously the proposal was to include two two-bedroom homes if the latest scheme is approved they would be three-bedroom homes instead, increasing their size 86.4 sq m to 100 sq m each.
The site is at the north end of Keld Drive where there is a detached home on a large plot which extends down to the River Uck. To the east is Framfield Stream which feeds into the Uck.
Last night (March 16), Uckfield Town Council plans committee agreed to object to the application.
Councillors felt two-bedroom homes are more likely to be affordable for people trying to get on the housing ladder.
They also thought the change was likely to lead to more traffic in an already congested area.
