Chance to dress towns and villages with the Olympic Look

Wealden towns and villages could be dressed with an Olympic 'look' in the run up to the Olympic Games next year.

District councillors have been told that a marketing guide is to be launched in June, called the Look Book. This will show the different  'looks' that can be ordered.

“A key aspect to the 2012 Look will be the shards theme that can be applied to buildings, roads, pavements and even cut into grass or painted on fields,” says a bulletin to Wealden councillors.

On May 18 the dates and stop locations for the Torch Relay are to be announced. The torch will arrive on May 18, 2012, and travel around the country for 70 days, arriving in London the weekend before the 2012 Games begin.

Schools and colleges in Wealden have signed up to the 2012 Get Set programme which demonstrates a commitment to Olympic Values of friendship, excellence and respect, and Paralympic Values of inspiration, determination, courage and equality.
