Carriageway patching to close Maresfield road

Traffic is due be diverted away from Batts Bridge Road, Maresfield, between 9am and 3.30pm as carriageway patching works take place from today (Tuesday) for three days.

East Sussex Highways say the patching will be followed by surface dressing works but those works are weather dependent so precise dates will be given about 48 hours beforehand via signs at the site. The provisional date is Tuesday, August 27.

Traffic will be diverted via the A22 Maresfield Bypass, Straight Half Mile, and vice versa.

Highways say they will try to give access where they can but there may be long delays while the area is made safe.

“The road will be closed to through traffic. This is for your safety and the safety of our workers. If you do need vehicle access then please discuss this with the team on site.

“We will always allow access for emergency vehicles. Pedestrian access will be maintained.”

They add that the works might be delayed if it rains.
