She added: “Tosca is now sound asleep with her family.”
Our story from Thursday, August 1: A Framfield family is devastated following the disappearance of their much loved black Labrador Tosca.
Tosca, who is pictured here cuddling another family pet, pug Mole, disappeared from a garden in Sandy Lane, Framfield, yesterday and hasn’t been seen since.
Owner Hayley Wells said her son has been out with leaflets appealing for information, she has phoned vets in the area and beyond, called the dog warden and police and put alerts out on lost dog websites. Her partner Colin raced to East Grinstead after a possible sighting, but it wasn’t Tosca.
Hayley said Tosca had been out in the 1/3 of an acre garden yesterday, Wednesday, July 31, but she became concerned when a friend arrived and said she hadn’t heard Tosca barking. She had last seen Tosca at about 11.30am.
At about 1pm Hayley found a back gate open, chickens and ducks out of the garden and Tosca missing. She believes the Labrador was stolen but said she wouldn’t have gone willingly, “not in a million years”.
“She would have barked and growled and been very ferocious but she would have had her tail between her legs because she is very nervous.”
Hayley said Tosca is a magnificent big Labrador, and will be eight years old on September 22.
“She is like a child to us. Everyone knows how much we love animals. She’s gorgeous. I just can’t comprehend what has happened. All I can do I drive around but I don’t know where to look.”
