People interested in buying the former public lavatories in Uckfield High Street have viewed the property.
It is on the market with a guide price of around £50,000 and a number of viewings have been conducted by property agents Stiles Harold Williams.
Niral Patel from the agents said there was interest from people looking for a small commercial unit.
He said the 261 sq ft building, adjacent to the bridge over the River Uck, could be suitable for commercial development or residential development, subject to planning permission.
It is described as a single-storey, brick built former WC under a pitched roof. There is no land with the property other than which the building stands upon.
Offers are invited for the premises which are described as being in a prominent location in the town centre, close to the railway station, Waitrose and Bell Walk shopping centre.
The lavatories, which have been closed for many years, are being sold by Wealden District Council.
