Cakes were provided by parents, the PTA and staff for an afternoon tea celebration assembly, and gifts were presented to Mrs Radford who retires today after six years as executive headteacher of South Ashdown Schools Federation.

The gifts included a beautiful scarf, handmade by all the pupils. Mrs Radford loves scarfs and said her gifts were personal and thoughtful.

Children and staff paid tribute to the executive headteacher by making a music video based on her favourite film and calling it Bonners Go LA LA. One parent said: “What an amazing tribute. The children will remember this day. I would have loved to have done something like this when I was at school.”

Head of School Mrs Ewa Wilson said: “It was great fun. The movie was produced by Year 6 pupils and captured the ethos of the whole school perfectly.

“Mrs Radford will now be able to watch the movie any time and remember us all, and the time she spent at Bonners school. She has been an inspirational leader and we will truly miss her.

The whole school community wished Mrs Radford a happy retirement and thanked her for her commitment and dedication over the years.
