Battle against anti-social behaviour in Uckfield continues

Residents at Fernley Park, Uckfield, say they continue to be plagued by anti-social behaviour on an almost-daily basis.police-jacket-sign

One resident has told Uckfield News that trouble usually takes place between 4.30 and 5.30pm.

Youths are offensive and rude to anyone who comes face to face with them, they bang on street doors and/or cause criminal damage.

The resident who didn’t want to be named said: “All of this is being reported to the police as it happens but they appear to be powerless to act, always stating that they are building a case against known individuals.

“How long does that take? Well I can actually tell you that as earlier today I spent two of my valuable hours giving a written statement to a PCSO who visited my property from Hailsham Police Station (not Uckfield) in order to discuss recent events here at Fernley Park. It takes 12 months – yes I did say 12 months.”

That resident contacted the police twice last week after their house was targeted but said that by the time the police “Operation Blitz Team” arrived the culprits had dispersed.

The resident added: “It is fast becoming unbearable here. The police need to start making arrests.”
