A four-day band workshop is to be held next week organised by Uckfield guitarist Alex Butler and drummer Charlie Simpson from the successful blues/rock band Red Butler.
The course Buxted Primary School from Monday to Thursday, October 26 to 29.
The Red Butler Music School is designed to provide fun opportunities for young musicians, aged seven to 14, to play and learn in bands under the guidance of enthusiastic and professional tutors.
Skills and teamwork will be developed and at the end of the course a live performance will be recorded as a souvenir of the experience.
Alex said: “We will look at influences, techniques, team building, listening skills, writing, stage presence and there will be the opportunity to try a variety of instruments.”
The course will run daily from 10am to 4pm and there will be members of staff on site from 9am-5pm for pick up and drop-off.
The course cost is £125 for the four days and the youngsters are asked to bring a packed lunch each day.
The tutors are DBS checked and fully insured. Both Alex and Charlie are experienced musicians having performed live and recorded with various bands or undertaken solo projects.
