A sports and activities day designed for people of all ages will be held in Uckfield on Saturday, August 10.
An arena will be used to demonstrate different sports and encourage people to have a go themselves.
A highlight will be a demonstration of footballing skills by Charlotte Lade, one of the world’s finest female football freestylers.
Charlotte is a skills ambassador for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and has been a member of the Norwegian national street football team. Her attitude is: “Anything the guys can do, so can the girls.”
The sports and activities day will be held at West Park Recreation Ground from 10am-3pm on Saturday, August 10, and refreshments will be available.
The organising team includes Alan Sallows of Uckfield Rugby Club, Tony Rossi of Uckfield Grasshoppers Junior Football Club and Jeremy Hallett, who has been involved with Active Uckfield since being a member of Uckfield Town Council.
Alan said: “This is a day designed for people of all ages from six to 86 to inspire them to get active and to boost wellbeing.”
Jeremy added: “We are trying to bring together lots of different resources and put something on that none of the clubs would be able to do on their own. Coming together we can organise something special.”
Activities will include football, rugby, tennis, squash, stool ball, dance, yoga, personal training, badminton, table tennis, martial arts, fitness, a fun run, and more.
