Adult college announces details of courses starting in September

Brochures containing information about courses being organised by Adult College for Rural East Sussex (ACRES) are landing on Uckfield doorsteps.

The courses which will be held held in town, and the surrounding area, from September, range from Maths, English and Art, to creative skills, such as ceramics and digital photography, health and fitness, and the chance to learn new skills such as archery, beekeeping or gardening.

Ofsted rates ACRES teaching, learning and assessment as good overall, with aspects that are outstanding, and the college says it is this that makes it stand out as consistently providing good quality courses.

Free of charge

All English and Maths courses are free of charge for anyone who does not hold a GCSE of grade 4/C or above.

They offer the chance to brush up on functional skills needed for everyday life, or take part in a one year intensive course leading to a full GCSE.

There’s an English Workshop too, which is designed to be fun and relaxed for those wanting to improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
