The Academy of Hair salon in Uckfield High Street has been refurbished and an open day was held to celebrate.
Owner Jo Snelgrove, who took over the salon in December, is delighted with the refit which includes new decor, flooring, seating, mirrors and reception desk.
She is pictured, above left, with three of her staff, Charlene Smith, Emma Collinson and Sharon Blackford. Also working with her are Jemma Aggett, Jade Watson and Kelly Long who is re-joining the salon after a two-year break.
Jo trained at the Sussex Downs College, in Lewes, and has worked at Academy of Hair over about six years including breaks to have her children.
She lives in Uckfield and is married to Rob who, with a friend, spent Sundays and Mondays working on the salon while it has opened for business as usual during the rest of the week.
Jo said: “I am very pleased with the way it looks and it is very nice to get the clients coming in and saying it looks lovely. It makes them feel special and that is what it is all about.
“We offer a full hairdressing service and have a range of stylists, from a junior with 18 months experience through four steps to senior stylists, which means our prices can be tailored to suit every pocket.”
The Academy of Hair offers a 15 per cent discount for students on all services and discounted prices for pensioners on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
