Work is under way at Academy of Hair in Uckfield to refurbish the salon and ensure staff and customers are kept safe when it is allowed to reopen after the Coronavirus lockdown.
Owner Natalie Edwards said her husband, Michael, is helping with the revamp of the premises at 104 High Street.
Natalie is stocking up on biodegradable gowns, towels, and gloves, and will have hand sanitisers inside and outside the shop. There will be plastic cups for water for customers.
The refurbishment includes fewer mirrors and Natalie is splitting her hairdressing team into two, so that while one team works the other is off.
Visits will be ‘by appointment’ only but the salon will be open seven days a week, 9am-6pm Monday to Friday, and 9am-4pm over the weekend.
The door will be locked between appointments and waiting will be outside the salon. Parents will be advised not to bring children.
Keep in touch with what is happening at the salon, and find a link to the bookings system, on the Academy of Hair Facebook page.
Natalie told Uckfield News: “I think it’s very important that we prepare carefully for reopening and I want to do everything I can to protect customers, and staff, at this difficult time.
“That is why the salon is being revamped. I hope people will look forward to seeing the new look and know they will have a safe and enjoyable experience when they come to Academy of Hair.”
