A look at new traffic calming works in Maresfield

A new pavement and road humps can be seen in place in High Street, Maresfield, as work on traffic calming measures progresses.

The road has been closed since last month and is due to re-open on September 1.

Our pictures show some of the changes taking place.

One of the previously built out sections of road, that nearest the mini roundabout outside The Chequers, has disappeared and a new path has been built running for a short distance from the entrance of the recreation ground towards the school.

Closer to the school from the village end of the High Street there is a new wide hump in the road and beyond the school there are two more humps to slow traffic approaching from the Budletts Roundabout.

Two more humps will slow traffic approaching the school from Budletts Roundabout. You can just see on of them beyond the yellow zig zag keep clear line.
