Fifty-three-year-old grandmother Vanessa Sayers is to have her head shaved for charity on Thursday, August 15.
Vanessa will ‘Brave the Shave’ in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and will be pleased to raise any amount of money but has a target of £300.
Cancer
The mother-of-four grown-up children and six grandchildren who lives in Nutley, and is married to Kevin, lost her own mother to cancer 43 years ago when she was only 42.
Her mother and father-in-law died of cancer, and her youngest daughter’s boyfriend also lost his life to the disease when he was just 20.
Vanessa saw Brave the Shave advertised and decided to take part in order to raise money for the great cause.
Pub
Her head will be shaved at Giggles pub in Nutley at 6.30pm on August 15 – which would have been her mother-in-law’s birthday.
The owner of the local hairdressers’s Head out Back will supervise the shave and is sponsoring her by helping her as her hair starts to grow back.
If you would like to sponsor Vanessa please visit her Brave the Shave fund-raising page here.
