FENCED OFF: 30 spaces on the Luxford Field car park, Uckfield

30 Uckfield parking spaces lost on Luxford Field car park

Thirty shoppers’ car parking spaces at the Luxford Field, Uckfield, have been fenced off.

The three-hour limit spaces are to be used by contractors carrying out the second stage of the High Street roadworks, writes Paul Watson.

The 30 spaces fenced off are out of a total of 112 shoppers’ spaces – more than 25 per cent of the total three-hour spaces.

The compound also prevents the one-way of circulation of traffic in the car park.

The roadworks are due to start on Sunday with the county council telling UckfieldNews.com last week the works will officially begin at noon on Sunday (February 21).

They are scheduled to take eight months – mid October.
