Work begins on new Hughes Way play area

Work began on Monday on the new play area for Hughes Way in Uckfield.

Excavations can be seen, along with the frame for swings – and lots of boarding to enable workmen to move around the soggy ground.

Bad weather postponed the start for a week, but eventually on Monday, (February 12), it got under way only for the site to be deserted again yesterday as it poured with rain.

Uckfield Town Council is expecting the work to take between three and four weeks.

Letters have been delivered to nearby residents and posters are displayed on the site about the start date.
