Tonight there’s a barn dance at the Cinque Ports Club being organised by Dawson Hart to raise funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice. If you’d like tickets please call Dawson Hart on 01825 762281.

Tomorrow there are two free sessions at Uckfield Fire Station open to the public teaching how to “Restart a Heart” using CPR and an Automatic Electronic Defibrillator. The sessions are from 8.30-10.30am and from 10.30am-12.30pm.

Also tomorrow a Craft and Artisan Market is being held at Bridge Cottage from 10am-4pm, and a concert with Kaleidoscope in the evening.

Pub gigs include 61 Club at The Ringles Cross and Tom Fitzpatrick at Foresters Arms, Fairwarp, tonight, and Bad Gumby at The Pig and Butcher, Five Ash Down, tomorrow.

On Sunday The Fricketts play at The Ringles Cross.

School open days

School open days are getting under way now for children aged 4+ who will be starting school in September 2018.

Holy Cross Primary School is happy to arrange mid-morning tours from now until Friday, January 12, if you call them first on 01825 762336.

Blackboys Primary School has an open day on Tuesday, October 17, and Framfield has one on Thursday, October 19.
