Wealden District Council has won the national prize for Best Customer Experience Award for local authority searches in England and Wales.
The council was recognised at the 2015 Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence which celebrate and promote exceptional customer experience, rewarding those local authorities “that go the extra mile”.
Cllr Ann Newton, cabinet member for planning and development at Wealden said she was delighted the hard work and consistently high standards of the team at Wealden had been recognised.
She added: “The team – Mandy hockin, Zoe Wynn and Farrah Lucas – deserve all the credit they receive and are a great example of our values of excellence and efficiency that we pride ourselves on across the planning department and council as a whole.”
Judges for the award said: “We were impressed with Wealden’s overall flexibility, excellent service offering and commitment to electronic service delivery.”
The national awards celebrate the work and achievements of local authority local land carges departments which carry out the required land and property searches for conveyancing transactions in England and Wales.
In 2011 the Wealden team was awarded Best NLIS Local Land Charges Department and in 2012 the Best Electronic Service Delivery.
