Wealden MP receives cartoon from Uckfield Chamber of Commerce

The Government’s Minister for Energy, Wealden MP Charles Hendry joined about 90 people at the Uckfield Chamber of Commerce Christmas dinner held at Barnsgate Manor.

He is pictured with Chamber president Peter Gale, below right, of accountants Swindells and Gentry, and member Stephen Dockree, a financial adviser with The Legal Brokerage, who drew a cartoon featuring the MP and presented it to him to mark the occasion.

Mr Dockree said: “It was meant to be a warm hearted thank you to Charles for his friendship and for the advocacy done on behalf of the Chamber over the many years he has been MP.

“He always makes a point of attending the Christmas dinner and often comes along to Chamber meetings taking up local issues and supporting us where he can.”

Mr Dockree focussed on Mr Hendry’s Government role as Minister of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change in the cartoon.

There are symbols representing different weather conditions, such as a bucket and spade and a sledge. Mr Hendry is shown carrying an umbrella.

This was the third cartoon drawn by Mr Dockree as an award for people connected with Uckfield Chamber of Commerce to show gratitude for the work they do.
