The teenager will be working with the TV show’s hosts Patrick and Esme on the main stage, running workshops and for one activity will be working with Joyce, a fellow contestant from the 2016 TV show.
Jade, 18, from Ridgewood, has been busy since being selected a runner-up in the show last year.
She has won an award for Student Enterprise of the Year at Sussex Downs College, raised funds for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, done lots of sewing and is also in her final year at college.
She finishes her art and design course in June and hopes to get a job as an intern in one of the fashion houses, or work within the fashion industry, after that.
She is an ambassador for Janome sewing machines – she raised money for the air ambulance by raffling one of their machines – and produces weekly live videos each Sunday at 4pm teaching sewing techniques and sharing other tips.
Jade is continuing to collect signatures on a petition calling for skills-based lessons to be brought back into the curriculum and she blogs regularly as The Girl with the Bright Red Hair on Facebook where more than 21,000 people ‘like’ her page.
In addition she has 7,400 followers on Instagram and 3,400 on Twitter, and, on top of all that, she is hoping to publish a book this year.
Jade’s mum said: “We are so proud of her. She is so determined to make a difference, not only to her life, but others as well. She receives so many lovely comments daily on what an inspiration she is and these comments make her thrive even more.”
