Uckfield writer Michael J Ritchie signs contract for second novel

Uckfield author Michael J Ritchie has signed a publishing contract for his second novel ‘The Third Wheel’ and you could be in it.

This time he is signed up with Unbound, a publishing house that uses a crowdfunding model, which guarantees publication in paperback, fulfilling Michael’s dream, plus an e-book version providing that he raises sufficient funds for the process.

Michael is Uckfield born and bred and attended Holy Cross CE Primary School and Uckfield Community Technology College before attaining a degree in Creative Writing at Roehampton University.

Elusive dream

He ‘stumbled’ into retail management but maintained his writing with published magazine articles while continuing to seek that elusive dream writing career.

Redundancy from his job in retail earlier this year provided the opportunity to complete this science fiction novel ‘The Third Wheel’ and hopefully achieve his ambition of seeing his book on the shelves of bookstores.

Michael said “I fully appreciate that crowdfunding may not appeal to everyone but this seems to be the modern way and the Unbound model supports hundreds of new and established authors through individual and corporate donation.”

First edition

Anybody who supports Michael in this project will be listed in the book and will receive an e-copy or a first edition of the paperback which will be published in 2018.

A variety of rewards are available with pledges including the opportunity to have characters named after very generous donors.

Further information on the novel and how to support it is available on the Unbound website at Michael J Ritchie – The Third Wheel.

Michael’s previous urban fantasy offering ‘The Atomic Blood-Stained Bus’ published by Impera performed well when released in October 2014 but was only ever available as an e-book.
