Uckfield trampolinist selected to join national high performance squad

Uckfield trampolinist Louise Brownsey has been selected to join the National High Performance Junior Squad.

Louise, aged 15, trains with the Sky High Club at Fun Abounds trampoline centre on the Bellbrook Estate, Uckfield, and attends Uckfield Community Technology College, writes Cathy Watson.

She represented Great Britain in a World Cup competition in Portugal in October where she won a bronze medal.

Now she has her sights set on the European Championships which take place in Spain in March.

She will trial at the end of February for a place in a team which will include four girls and four boys.

Being part of the high performance squad gives her access to two training camps before the trial where she will work with GB coaches. She will also have top support on nutritional, strengthening and conditioning needs.

• Niamh Andrews who also trains with the Sky High Club and competed at the World Age Games in Denmark in December was also selected to join the National High Performance Junior Squad but will not be taking up the place.
